AND MORE THAN 100 YEARS IN THE BUSINESS

In 1899…

…my great-grandmother, Mrs Meme Guinart, began making fresh pasta in a shop on Plaça del Pedró, in the heart of Barcelona. At that time, it was one of the first places in the city to make pasta by hand.

She decided to market the pasta and chose the most popular shopping area of the time, in the very centre of Barcelona, right next to the Boqueria market.

Her son, Josep Moya Guinart, transformed the business into a delicatessen, which in addition to selling the traditional pasta began to incorporate the best selection of ham, cured meats, wine, cheese, etc.

DELICATESSEN

This specialisation in top-quality products for many years has made Casa Guinart a renowned, benchmark, not-to-be-missed stall for anyone wanting to purchase the best products in Catalonia, Spain and Europe.

DAVID MOYA

The biggest remodel was done, with two entrances: one with a beautiful view of the Boqueria market and the other looking out onto the Ramblas. We kept the delicatessen, expanding the counter with a fantastic selection of cheeses from all over and the most select ham and cured meats.

We added to our wine selection and put in a bar where visitors can enjoy some tapas with a great selection of wine by the glass.

TASTING MENU

We also expanded the upper floor, creating “Casa Guinart Degustación”, a small restaurant with an exclusive setting where guests can taste the products from the shop and enjoy a small menu of dishes from the market.

Casa Guinart today

is a place to enjoy excellent tapas and fresh produce from the market in the same unparalleled setting it has always enjoyed.
